Terms of Use

1. Introduction

We, Andrii Kryshtal ("Provider"), operating in the United Kingdom, have developed the software solution NICH – GPT Anonymizer ("NICH"). NICH is a Google Chrome extension that runs entirely in your browser using Transformers.js with a local BERT model.

NICH enables you to anonymise text content before sending it to GPT services or other external platforms, helping protect your privacy by removing sensitive information. All AI-powered entity recognition and processing happens directly in your browser.

By installing, accessing, or otherwise using NICH, you confirm that you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (the "Agreement").

2. Scope of Use

NICH is completely free to use with no limitations. There are no usage limits, subscription fees, or premium tiers.

3. Licence and Restrictions

The Provider grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use NICH solely for your personal or internal business purposes, in accordance with this Agreement.

You agree to the following restrictions:

Not to Reverse Engineer: You must not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble NICH.
Not to Circumvent Security: You must not use NICH to bypass or undermine any website's terms of service or security measures.
Not to Modify: You must not modify NICH or create derivative works based on NICH, unless explicitly permitted by this Agreement or applicable law.

4. Data Processing and Privacy

4.1 Browser-Based Processing

NICH runs entirely in your browser using Transformers.js with a local BERT model for entity recognition. All anonymisation processing happens directly within the Chrome extension. Your original and anonymised text remain in your browser; they are never transmitted to our servers. Any data you choose to send to GPT services or other external networks after anonymisation is your sole responsibility.

4.2 Provider's Data Collection

At Nichtech we value data privacy and security and collect minimal information to improve NICH, such as:

Basic usage statistics (e.g., number of anonymisations).
Technical information (e.g., browser version, extension errors).
Approximate location (country only, based on IP address).

We never collect your original or anonymised text content.

5. User Responsibilities

5.1 Reviewing Anonymised Content

We strive to achieve a high level of anonymisation (up to 90% accuracy in tests). However, omissions or errors may occur. You must review the anonymised text to ensure it meets your requirements before sending it onward.

5.2 Content Ownership and Copyright

You are solely responsible for the content of any texts you use for anonymisation. Nichtech (the Provider) shall not be liable if you anonymise texts that infringe copyright, violate third-party rights, or in any similar situations.

5.3 Responsibility for Sent Data

Once anonymised content leaves your device (for example, when sent to GPT services or other networks), it is entirely your responsibility.

6. System Requirements

Google Chrome Extension: Requires Google Chrome browser.

7. Warranty Disclaimer

NICH is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Provider disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement.

You acknowledge:

That the anonymisation process may sometimes miss or over-anonymise content.
That the Provider does not warrant NICH will meet your requirements or operate uninterrupted, timely, securely, or error-free.

8. Liability and Indemnity

8.1 Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Provider shall not be liable for:

Loss or damage resulting from errors or omissions in anonymised text.
Indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages.
Loss of profit, revenue, data, or goodwill, whether direct or indirect.

8.2 User Responsibility

You agree to assume full responsibility for reviewing anonymised text and for all content you choose to send through GPT services or similar platforms.

8.3 Indemnification

You will indemnify and hold the Provider harmless against any claims, actions, proceedings, losses, damages, expenses, and costs (including court costs and legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of NICH.

9. Dispute Resolution

If you have any concerns or disputes regarding NICH or this Agreement, please contact the Provider directly:

If a dispute remains unresolved, it shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction unless you have a place of jurisdiction in another EU member state.

10. Changes to this Agreement

We may update this Agreement to:

Reflect changes in how NICH operates.
Meet legal requirements.
Address new features or policies.

When we make significant changes, we will notify users via the extension. Users are encouraged to review this Agreement regularly for updates.

11. Support and Contact

11.1 Technical Support

If you encounter technical issues:

Contact our support team at anonymizer@nichtech.uk. We aim to respond within 48 business hours.

For urgent privacy-related issues, we will prioritise responses as quickly as possible.

12. Your Rights

As a user of NICH, you have the right to:

Use NICH without providing personal information beyond what Google Chrome inherently collects for extension functionality.
Request the deletion of any associated data we hold.
Receive notification of significant changes to these terms.
Contact us with questions or concerns about your privacy or these Terms.

13. Final Provisions

In the event any provision of this Agreement is deemed invalid, unenforceable, or unlawful, all remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. No failure or delay by the Provider in exercising any right under this Agreement shall constitute a waiver of that right.

By installing or using NICH, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the above terms.
